I'm still making an effort to be a little more prolific. From everything I've seen, it just seems to be the better strategy for those of us writing on Medium, especially since manual curation by Medium staff and the subsequent increase in views seems to be a thing of the past.
If the quality of my writing has suffered as a result of this, please don't toilet paper my house ;-)

It doesn’t hurt to ask, right? Well, dear hustling spammer, unfortunately, it does. It hurts you and it hurts everyone else.
Look, I understand you want to grow an audience, go viral, and make dough online. I understand you are desperate for attention. I sometimes feel desperate myself. I also know how freaking hard it is to get eyeballs on your words. And if you’re actually trying to make friends, I feel you. Writing can be lonely.
But what you’re doing is not “reaching out.” You’re not trying to “connect.” You’re trying to use others to get ahead yourself. And no one likes to be used.

Okay. Before you start reading this wisdom-packed article, let me be frank and put my hairy balls on the table. I’m a putz on Twitter. I have a teeny tiny following there and I’m not going to pretend anything else. And I’m most certainly not going to pretend I have that stupid blue bird figured out. I haven’t.
Then why the red monkey bum should you listen to me? Well, maybe you shouldn’t. Maybe you should go to some blowhard marketing “growth hacker” and pay $500 for a Twitter course where they’ll tell you to follow a gazillion random people in the hopes that they’ll follow you back. But maybe you’d rather spend that money on, I don’t know, food, and would prefer to hear an honest take from a fellow writer who has had a few recent revelations about how Twitter works.
